Back From Holiday / Food / Booze

Ahh it's good to be back after 4 days being away. No exercise were done while I was up at the foothills and now I feel as though I'm way behind schedule.

Since there were not workouts, I guess I'll just blog about the trip, don't worry it's gonna be short. You get to see what we've been munching on and finally see what I look like.

Setting Up A Coaching Plan Within miCoach

Happy Monday readers! Yes I'm one of those guys who loves his Mondays. I came up with a saying [or probably already made up by someone out there] that goes something like this :-

"For those who dread Monday, stop partying too hard during the weekends"

Okay, maybe it doesn't sound THAT great, but it sure helps me get by on the first day of the week!

Today as promised I wanna talk about how to create a plan within the miCoach system.

Overslept!

That's not me in the picture.

I can't believe I overslept! Still trying to get into the hang of things and throw away bad habits of sleeping late.

I made it up though by running. I planned a 5km run but was cut short by the rain. Gah.

Summary on My First Run

This is the summary of my first run using the Nike+ system. It was a bit hard on my knees considering I'm 27kgs over weight.

My pace was fairly consistent. SLOW [being at 9 minutes/km] but consistent.

As you can see the Nike+ system records certain data like the duration, distance, pace and calories burnt. For my next run I will use the Adidas miCoach to show everyone reading this blog, how it works.

Tried this before? Share your experience and tips on the comments page!

Preparing Running / Jogging Gears For Today!

Today is the day! I'm going to attempt a 5km run today. Based on my previous 5km runs, this should burn at least 400 cal. Will be a little tough if you are a beginner, so work on your pace.

I think it'll be best that I share with you gadgets, applications, websites and services that I use to keep track of my runs.

Calorie Intake Calculation

I used the Harris Benedict Equation for this project to calculate my caloric needs. The formula determines my basal energy requirements, which is the energy required to maintain your current weight without exercise.

There's 3 simple steps to this, so let's get it started!

First!

Hey folks! I’m so excited to be writing this first post! So much to say but I don’t want to get off the wrong foot, so I guess the logical thing to do is to introduce this blog.
For those of you who missed the “What is Theburnwithin” page, I highly recommend you checking it out to have a firm grasp of what this blog is about.
Now that’s out of the way, a little planning should be in order.
